| THE BRAZ-TESOL NATIONAL CONVENTION:
Will be held in Belo Horizonte, the capital of Minas Gerais,
from July 19 to 22, 2004. A forum for professionals in the field
of English Language teaching, the convention will promote the
discussion of theoretical and practical issues related to the
TEACHING OF ENGLISH TO SPEAKERS OF OTHER LANGUAGES (TESOL).
It is a unique opportunity for BRAZ-TESOL members and international
colleagues to get together, present their work and reflect on
their practices. In 2004, this most prestigious event will introduce
an innovation: mini-courses - given by renowned specialists
- will also be included in the program. And there's more! All
participants will be invited to visit the numerous stands available
in the exposition area, including all major book editors, overseas
study and/ or work programs, testing centers, franchise opportunities,
as well as visit stands presenting arts and crafts from the
Minas Gerais region and Brazil in general. So come enjoy the
rich cultural and historical experience that Belo Horizonte
and Minas Gerais has to offer to all English Language Teachers. |

The fine, tradicional cachaça produced in Minas Gerais
is capturing both the domestic and international market, which
has resulted in BH hosting the most important cachaça
fair in the country. In the cultural arena, internationally
important events such as FIT- the International Theatre Festival
and FID- the International Dance Festival form part of the
annual calendar of events. In 2004, the 9th BRAZ-TESOL National
