Escola Beit Yaacov was born of a genuine need felt by the Jewish community to enroll their children in a school with an international perspective on education that emphasized the traditions and culture of Judaism.

In 2001 the school initiated its activities in Sao Paulo with a bold project: to become the first Jewish bilingual school in Brazil. It has not stopped growing ever since.

In order to strengthen its commitment to internationalism, EBY applied for the Primary Years Program in 2004. This IB (International Baccalaureate) program is in concert with the ideals of progressive education embraced by the teaching staff and administration, which provides the institution with the opportunity to put our beliefs and values in practice. In 2009, the EBY team’s commitment was rewarded with the school receiving IB accreditation, indisputably confirming the institution as a center of academic excellence.

EBY has two school buildings: a Preschool and an Elementary School. A theater that seats 700 people is part of the premises. As of 2011, another building is to host the Beit Yaacov High School.

Classrooms are spacious and comfortable, furbished with equipment that enables varied configurations, which encourage independent learning.
